Former Kentucky star Randall Cobb remains true to roots, speaks to alma mater's football team
Former Kentucky and current Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb spoke to the football team of his alma mater, Alcoa (Tenn.) High School, on Saturday.
Cobb retweeted a photo of the appearance shared by Alcoa sports’ official Twitter account and added “where it all started…”
Cobb was a Mr. Football winner in 2007 and a member of four consecutive state championship-winning teams (2004-07) during his high school career at Alcoa, mostly playing quarterback, running back and wide receiver, while also contributing on special teams and defense.
Cobb spent three seasons at Kentucky, where he earned All-SEC honors twice and was named an All-American in 2010. He was inducted into the Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame last year.
As a junior, Cobb recorded 1,017 yards and 7 touchdowns on 84 receptions, 424 yards and 5 touchdowns on 55 rushing attempts, 736 yards on 31 kickoff returns and 219 yards and a touchdown on 28 punt returns.
