Evacuation orders to be lifted as firefighters get a handle on Beverly Crest brush fire


“We hit it pretty hard,” said Art Marrujo, a dispatch supervisor with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The agency’s two helicopters had been released from the scene as of shortly after 6 p.m. “We usually don’t start burning ‘til July, August. Here we are in June burning — just typical of what’s going on.”
