Bevin On Trade Mission To Asia

Governor Matt Bevin is on an economic development trip to Asia this week. The trade mission to Japan and the Republic of Korea will encourage more job creation in Kentucky.

The goal of the trip is to build new relationships and strengthen existing ties with Japanese and Korean manufacturers, service, and technology companies. Japan is Kentucky’s largest international investor with nearly 200 facilities in the commonwealth. A majority of those facilities are in the automotive industry. Since January 2016, Japanese-owned companies have announced 67 expansion or new projects in Kentucky. Meanwhile, five companies with roots in the Republic of Korea operate or are currently building six facilities in the bluegrass state, including in Campbellsville and Franklin.
